High quality professional tripod and outperform Dolica AX series,
For those of you who’s doing research and comparing this to the AX620B100 then I can tell you to look no further. Last month, I accidentally lost my AX620B100 Proline tripod and decided to re-purchase one. After some quick research, the Dolica GX600B200 poped out. Since this tripod is a new product from Dolica, I didn’t have any other reviews to back it up but still decided to get one because of the cool features (price is not much higher too). At first, I enjoyed and believed the AX tripod was really great, but man, this tripod outperform the AX620B100 by every aspect. You can check all the main features on this tripod through Amazon specification which I probably do not need to explain further, but I will explain why this tripod is a great buy.
First, the center column can be taken into two pieces where you can use the smaller column for low angle shots. When I mean low angle, it means you can literally kiss the ground (about 3-4 inches from the surface). This is a great feature if you are doing macro photography which stabilization is a must.
Second, this tripod beats the AX620B100 in stabilization and vibration reduction. This tripod has a strong leg and strong plastic flip lock (unlike AX620B100, the flip lock is one of its flaws). Also, you can feel the solid construction of this tripod and the tripod is really stable even with the center column is fully extended.
Third, the ball head is stronger than the AX620B100 by A LOT, and you can hold almost all heavy lenses with this ballhead. I have Canon L series lenses and 5D mark 2 and the head holds it really well with ease on both vertical or horizontal shots. I also have a Tamron macro lens that weight around 5lbs, and it can hold it really well too.
Fourth, there is a feature that’s not mention (might not be a feature) is that this tripod is scratch resistance. I remember my AX620B100 was really beat up with light scratches, but this tripod seems like it is coated with some paint that can resist scratch and if there is any scratch mark, you can wipe it off with your fingers. Of course, I haven’t really try to scratch it with a knife or anything, but it seems like it can hold well against light scratches, bumps, and etc.
As for cons, I can’t really think of anything yet maybe except that it is slightly more expensive than AX620B100, but if you are willing to throw in that extra twenty bucks, I would say do not look further and just grab this baby. This tripod is comparable to $250 + Gitzo or $150+ Manfrotto tripod (similar features and price comparison). This is also a great price for both entry level or pro photographers.
Either way, you will not regret getting this tripod because I can already feel this tripod will last me awhile unless I lose it again. The AX620B100 tripod do not have that long lasting construction and you will feel that it will eventually wears out.

|Almost perfect,
I love this tripod, which replaces an aluminum Bogen that I’ve had for years. The tripod sets up quickly, and unlike the experience of another reviewer, mine is perfectly level when the legs are at full extension. There were no flaws, no loose screws, and this is an unbelievably versatile tripod compared to what I had before. I use this for travel and hiking. It is a little on the heavier side than some of the other aluminum tripods on the market, but it is rock solid. It is extremely stable even with the center column fully extended. I love the degree markings on the head, perfect for stitching panoramic shots. The feet have metal spikes, but also rubber feet that will screw down over the spikes for indoor work. The only reason I titled this review “almost perfect” is that if the tripod had a removable handle for rotating the ball hand, for panning for example, it would be perfect. I spent a LOT of time researching all the tripods available in the market now (12/1/2011) and I found this to be the best mix of value, versatility, and quality.

|Excellent Tripod,
I’m not a professional photographer by any means but this tripod is 20x better than anything I have found in local stores, aside from overpriced camera shops. Qaulity is excellent and seems very durable. The few times I have used it, the tripod has been nothing short of amazing! The only thing I think I miss with this particular tripod is the lever/handle you have on others to allow you to pan your camera. Not a big deal for my dslr but would have been nice for the video camera as I think they eliminate a little shake panning this way rather than moving your camera. It was still obvious by the pictures that this was without one so it’s not too big of a deal. Awesome construction and functionality otherwise!
I forgot to mention that when this was delivered someone walked off with my package. I spent a couple days on the phone with the post office to confirm that it was delivered and it was. I got on the live chat with an Amazon Rep and he was so helpful and thorough. He had a replacement item shipped out within a few hours and it was at my door the following day! I was so worried I’d have to jump through hoops to get another one and was elated that I still had it at my door before I left town (the same day it was delivered) and planned on originally using it! Awesome customer service Amazon!!
